The article, written by students at the University of California, details the different types of deserts that exist across the globe. When most people think about deserts they probably imagine an unbearably hot and sunny place with sand dunes all around and a lack of vegetation or animal life. Although this is true for the most part there are actually other types of deserts that aren't as hot and instead are cold, such as cold deserts, which have mean winter temperature of -2 to 4 degrees Celcius.
