The Blog to End it All

After a semister's worth of struggling I was able to to bring all of my effort and experience into one product that I felt perfectly reflected my time as a student of my own learning. My electronic piano is now done and I got it to work perfectly with every key on the playing its own note and with the ability to play preloaded music like a stereo. My final exam was the presentation where I was able to sum up everything that took place through this learning experience. Personally, I feel like everything went well and that I communicated all of my ups and downs to the audience.

These ups and downs included my initial interest in Arduino and all of the small projects I did in order to get my self aquianted with the software and hardware. However, after some time I began to lose the burning passion that got me into Arduino in the first place because I had no goal to focus on and I was simply doing "meaningless" projects. This lead to me changing my focus to a more complicated and interesting project the electronic keyboard. Moving from doing multiple small projects to a single much bigger project helped me reignaite the fire that motivated me to work with Arduino and helped me realize how important it is to have a single greater goal that I am attempting to achieve instead of aimlessly completing small goals with no final goal. Even when I was working on the electronic keyboard I still had multiple instances where I felt like what I was doing was too hard and that maybe I should simply give up on the project and move on to something smaller. Nonetheless, I still pulled through those hard times and continued onwards to completeing my final product. These instances included having to learn how to solder, making a coat hanger into a wire for the microswitches, and troubleshooting the final product for any code that wasn't working properly and any wires that I connected incorrectly.

Coming out of this who experience I would say that I have learned a lot about my self and the world itself. First, I learned that no matter how perfect things might appear on paper and in theory they don't always work out the same way in the real world. This became apperant to me when I was working on my electronic keyboard and I tried making the coat hanger wire thick enough for the microswitches to fit. Second, that no matter what I am doing I should always try to keep myself focus on one final goal no matter how big it is. This way I am certain of why I am doing the things that I am doing and so that I can never lose the passion to keep working on what I'm working on. Lastly, I've grown as a person from many different aspects including my research skills, perseverance, and problem solving. I hope to work with Arduino or any other form of coding and robotics in the future whether it be for work or as a hobby.
